We are excited to offer FREE summer school for Harrison Prep students from June 26 to July 21 for middle school students and high school students entering grades 10-12 or seniors that did not graduate.

Enrollment is now open! Students in grades 9-12 will select their neighboring high school. Please fill out this Microsoft Office form to enroll:

Class placement will be based on the order in which we receive electronic applications. In the event summer school enrollment fills up, students will be placed on a waiting list. Your student’s enrollment must be confirmed to attend.

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL (Grades 6-8)

Harrison Prep students will attend summer school at Thomas Middle School (11509 Holden Rd SW, Lakewood) from June 26 to July 21.

Class Schedules

Monday-Friday, except July 3-4.

  • 8:30-11:30 a.m.
  • YMCA Staff runs the enrichment portion from 12:15-2 p.m.

Students are expected to attend all class sessions for which they register. Only two absences are allowed.

 Bus transportation routes will be created after registration closes and will be shared with parents once they are available. Class confirmation emails will be sent to parents after registration closes.

HIGH SCHOOL (Grades 9-12)

Class Schedules

Monday-Friday, except July 3-4.

  • Session 1: 9-11:30 a.m.
  • Session 2: 12-2:30 p.m.
  • Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

 

Students are expected to attend all class sessions for which they register. Only two absences are allowed.

 

Courses Offered

Credit retrieval registration is accepted from March 16 to June 17. All classes are worth one-half credit (.50 Carnegie unit) or one semester. Students can take the following courses for credit retrieval of a course that the student failed or did not complete:

 

  • English 9, 10, 11 and 12
  • World History and Civics
  • United States History
  • WA State History
  • Contemporary World Problems
  • Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II
  • Health
  • Biology and Chemistry
  • Physical and Earth/Space Science
  • Spanish I and Spanish II

 

Additional Information

Credit Retrieval courses are for students who have already taken a particular course and not earned credit (failed). Students may register for multiple courses, but courses must be completed one at a time (all of one course must be completed before the next course can be started). Students may register for the AM session (9-11:30 a.m.) or the PM session (noon-2:30 p.m.). Students registering for more than one course may also register for both AM and PM sessions.

 

  • Credit Retrieval Summer School is available to students currently residing in Clover Park School District.
  • Students may enroll in up to three courses during summer school.
  • Students are expected to attend class sessions daily. They may complete a course at any time.
  • Students will receive the letter grade earned at the conclusion of summer school. No in-progress grades will be assigned.
  • Students will need their CPSD computer login/password to access computers and online courses.
  • Space is limited and is available on a first come, first served basis.
  • AM/PM session availability will be confirmed at a later date.
  • CLOSED CAMPUS: Summer school is a closed campus. This means visitors are not allowed and students are not allowed to leave campus, for any reason, until their classes are over for the day.
  • GRADE REPORTS: A report card will be issued to all students, and a copy will be sent to their home school. The final grade will be added to the transcript.
  • LIBRARY: Students needing library services must use the public library.
  • LEAVING SCHOOL WHEN CLASSES END: Students must leave the grounds immediately after their classes end. Parents are asked to pick students up promptly after class unless they are riding the transit system.
  • TRANSPORTATION: CPSD bus transportation is available to and from each session. Choose the CPSD bus option when registering to be included in bus route planning.
  • ALL SCHOOL RULES APPLY DURING SUMMER SCHOOL.
